PROGRAM DEFINITIONS

PUBLIC SKATE -  Recreational skating on Sundays for 1. 5 hours. Extra Ice time during P.A. Days and holidays.

TINY TOTS – Time for parents to bring their  pre-schoolers (5 and under) out to learn how to skate during drop- in skating time. NO COST! (No sticks, pucks or facility chairs will be allowed on the ice surface during this time.)

ADULT SKATE –  Time for adults to come and enjoy recreational Drop-in  skating at the East Elgin Community Complex.  (No sticks, pucks or facility chairs will be allowed on the ice surface during this time.)

SHINNY – Pick-up Hockey scheduled at East Elgin Community Complex for 1.5 hours.  Recommend CSA Approved Helmet, Full Face mask, gloves, neck protector and stick.

MINI SHINNY - A unique combination of the current Tiny Tots and Shinny Hockey programs, Mini Shinny is an opportunity for parents to bring their preschool age children (5 and under) out to play Hockey in an unstructured environment.  Recommend CSA Approved helmet, full face mask, gloves, neck protector and stick.

30+ SHINNY – Pick-Up hockey scheduled  for individuals over 30 years of age. Recommend CSA Approved Helmet, Full Face mask, gloves, neck protector and stick.

LADIES SHINNY –  Pick-Up hockey scheduled for females at the East Elgin Community Complex.  Recommend CSA Approved Helmet, Full Face mask, gloves, neck protector and stick.

FIGURE SKATING Ice time scheduled for figure skating practice  to supplement Skate Canada Club Programs. Ice is not  sanctioned by Skate Canada.

FAMILY SKATE –  Time for families to come out and enjoy skating together on the last Friday of the month. Similar to Public Skating.

SHUFFLEBOARD - Our most popular seniors program to date.  A game in which disks are slid with a pronged cue along a smooth level surface toward one of two usually triangular targets, painted on the surface and divided into numbered scoring areas.

INDOOR WALKING - A simple way to exercise without worrying about outdoor hazards.  Walkers lap the Imperial Hall at whatever pace or speed and whatever distance they choose.

DAY CAMP - Supervised program for children 6 to 12.  Includes crafts, games , activities and Public Skating.  Scheduled during Holidays, Summer and on school P.A. Days. Registration Is required.

SPEED SKATING – A program meant to develop basic skating skills with a speed skating context. Registration is required.

FAMILY DROP IN –  A night out for the family to come and enjoy recreational games, crafts, and activities.

 SENIORS DAY OUT –  A day for seniors to get out and enjoy recreational activities, guest speakers, fitness and lunch. registration is required.
