Sledge Hockey’s Back at the East Elgin Community Complex!
Thursday, January 26, 2012 bring the family to experience international level sledge hockey from 8:15p.m. to 10:15p.m. at the East Elgin Community Complex in Aylmer. Sledge Team Ontario will be battling The Russian National Sledge Team in an exhibition game. Donation would be appreciated upon entrance to the event which will go to support Sledge Team Ontario. The East Elgin Community Complex hosted the Team Canada versus Team USA Sledge Hockey Game in January 2007, and is looking to once again fill the stands to cheer on Sledge Team Ontario and The Russian National Sledge Team.
Sledge hockey follows the same rules as ice hockey using equipment modifications to cater to the participants. The players are outfitted with two specially constructed hockey sticks fitted with picks on each end. They sit on a sledge, which is a narrow platform fitted with two skate blades. This is a chance for all ages to experience fast paced, high intensity of sledge hockey.

Western Mustangs Figure Skating Team Prepares to Defend OUA Title
In preparation for the OUA Figure Skating Finals being hosted at the East Elgin Community Complex on February 16 & 17, 2012, the Western Mustangs Figure Skating Team will hold a simulation day at the Complex on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Under Head Coach, Alma Moir, competitors from Western will be fine tuning their programs in anticipation of defending their OUA title against the 9 universities competing.
